Back To Striders

< Prev Next >
The maintenance crews are seen here working on one of the Standard Striders. In the foreground, the pilot examines a power reading report from the reactor. The left arm pod, containing the reactor, is being removed by 3 workers, while another is making some adjustments to the cockpit controls. That arm pod looks like a rather large piece of equipment to be hefted between two men, but the press crew couldn't get any further information from them about the devices they were using to lift it.

Question: What are those large footlike things in the background?
Technical Notes

You can see here how the arm pods are mounted to the body. The arm has a pair of round 4x4 bricks with tech holes around the edge. The body has a pair of 2x4 bricks with tech pins on each end. These fit together and allow the pods to be removed fairly easily. Perhaps some time I'll work on alternate arm designs as well.
